Recommended travel destinations

1. Seongsan Ilchulbong (Seongsan Sunrise Peak)
Seongsan Ilchulbong is a phreatomagmatic volcanic cone formed when magma erupted under water, unlike other oreums on Jeju. At the time of its formation it was separated from the main island, but sand and pebbles accumulated around it creating a land connection, and with a road built in 1940 it became fully connected to the mainland. From the summit you can see a crater measuring about 80,000 pyeong (approximately 264,000 m²); it is bowl-shaped and filled with grasses such as silver grass. The stairs to the top are steep and breath‑taking, but anyone can reach the summit in about 20 minutes.

2. Cheonjiyeon Waterfall
Seogwipo has more spring water than other areas, so it has a relatively high number of waterfalls. Among them, Cheonjiyeon Waterfall — whose name means "the pond where heaven and earth meet" — stops many visitors in their tracks. A variety of trees grow densely, keeping it cool even in midsummer, and basalt walking paths are well maintained so people of all ages can stroll and enjoy the scenery. It is open at night until 10 PM; the waterfall is especially spectacular after dark, so be sure to see it.

3. Camellia Hill
Camellia Hill is the largest camellia arboretum in East Asia and is popular with couples and families because it offers many charming photo spots. When the camellias bloom, numerous varieties welcome visitors, and when summer begins, hydrangeas resembling the blue sky greet you. In autumn, silver grass and pink muhly fill the garden. If you want to capture beautiful moments from your trip, visit Camellia Hill!
