Region:Vietnam, Hanoi
If you stay in Vietnam, a country with a history similar to ours, you sometimes feel as if you have returned to the past. Like our country, which achieved remarkable growth despite the wounds of war, Vietnam has also maintained steady economic growth since the war and still has many people who need help.
Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam, is home to many historical sites, and European-style culture blends in due to French rule. Local eateries that spread mats to sell pho, women wearing Vietnamese hats selling tropical fruit, and open-air cafés serving Vietnamese coffee — these are some of the scenes that represent Hanoi. But what leaves the deepest impression for many people may be the residents themselves. The streets are a chaotic mix of motorbikes, cars, and pedestrians, yet the city’s simple, good-natured people, who maintain their own sense of order, make a strong impression.
