This camp met all of those conditions.Through daily activities you'll get to know Vancouver, and on Sundays you'll spend time with your homestay family and truly learn Canadian culture.Also, because you study with friends from around the world and Canadian friends participate,you use English 24 hours a day and naturally become comfortable with the language.This project was created with the care I'd give my own younger sibling — I recommend it to you!

 Camp Features

- Unlike previous camps that were full of Korean friends and offered few opportunities to use English, friends from Europe and South America make up 80%, allowing you to focus on improving your English skills.

- On weekday afternoons and weekends, you will take part in various events such as cultural excursions and seasonal sports, using English in real situations to develop practical conversational skills.

- Classes are composed of an average of 12 to 16 students.

* Canada Class: A class that teaches Canada's history, notable figures, and geography. Some days use books; on other days, lessons use videos, field trips, worksheets, and teachers' experiences as learning materials.
* Every Tuesday features active activities such as bowling and museum visits, while Thursdays provide time for sightseeing around Vancouver and enjoying sports activities.

* In the afternoon, group projects involve discussions and presentations on various topics, followed by activity sessions.

* Every Wednesday focuses on active activities such as bowling and curling, and Fridays are reserved for excursions around Vancouver and time to enjoy sports activities.

* Camp schedules and activities are subject to change depending on local conditions, and activity end times vary by activity..

Course content

On the first day of the camp, orientation and an English level test are conducted. English classes are organized systematically by level, with 20 hours per week.

Through interesting topics and activities, students develop the four English skills—speaking, listening, writing, and reading—balancedly.

Activities

After working hard in the morning, enjoy a variety of activities in the afternoons and on weekends to gain rich experiences! Field trips are conducted twice a week with various activities.

All activities are included in the participation fee. The activities listed below may change depending on the local provider's circumstances.

* Sample activities

Sports activities Baseball, soccer, skiing, badminton, frisbee (disc throwing), swimming, bowling, curling, etc.
Art activities Art gallery field trips, photography, painting, dance, drama, etc.
Weekend tours Tours of areas near Vancouver (city trips to Whistler, Victoria, Steveston, etc.)
Full-day field trips (visiting famous tourist attractions in Vancouver)

Notice

- The participation period can be applied for from a minimum of 1 week up to 6 weeks, and on the first day of the camp there will be an on-campus orientation and a level test.

* 2026 schedule:

- Winter: January 5 to January 30, 2026 (4 weeks) *Schedule confirmed // Ages 9 to 17

- Summer: June 29 to August 7, 2026 (6 weeks) *May be changed to 4 weeks depending on local summer weather conditions // Ages 5 to 17

*Every Sunday, students can have personal time to relax, or spend the weekend with their homestay families or friends at school, during which they learn about each other's cultures and create memories..

English requirement☆☆

This project enables students to learn English at an appropriate level together with peers who have similar English skills., Beginners are also welcome; anyone can participate.. Just come ready to have fun and enjoy communicating with a variety of people.!

Accommodation

For accommodation, we arrange homestays connected with the school. By becoming part of a Vancouver-area family, you will not only use English but also experience local Canadian culture.

Homestay

Live with a host family and practice English conversation while experiencing Canada's vibrant culture firsthand! During weekdays you'll study hard at school, and on weekends you'll go on outings with your host family such as hiking, shopping, or picnics, or relax at home watching movies and playing board games. All homestay families are native English speakers and are carefully selected and directly managed by the institution according to strict standards.Meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) are all home-cooked by the homestay family. It takes about 40–60 minutes by public transportation from the homestay to the school, and travel is by public transport.

- If the local organization reviews and rejects the application, the registration and participation fees will be fully refunded (100%).

Individual participant departure

- ParticipantsVancouver International Airport(Vancouver International Airport)enter through Vancouver International Airport.

- The project site is located about a 30-minute drive from Vancouver International Airport,

Participants will be transported to the project site with a local pick-up coordinator.

Arrival and project start

- Upon arrival, participants meet the coordinator and attend a local orientation.

-After the local orientation, participants familiarize themselves with the information provided by the local organization and begin the project while always taking safety precautions during the project period.(* For local orientation, some local organizations may not provide one, and content or format may change or be reduced depending on the circumstances.)

Project review submission

- After the project ends, participants submit a project review; Gap Year will review it and issue a certificate.

- For mission participants, mission scholarships will be settled and paid.

PICK UP SERVICE

Important Notes


1. It is recommended to apply for this program with a lead time of about 3–6 months.

2. A passport with at least 6 months' validity remaining, excluding the program activity period, is required.

3. Refunds are not available for participant personal reasons after the program is confirmed.

4. Participants are deemed to have agreed to the Gap Year refund policy upon applying for the project.

5. This project applies a refund policy. A full 100% refund is available before project participation is confirmed, but cancellations after confirmation are non-refundable. For detailed information about refunds, Gap Year Refund PolicyPlease check it.

6. The project schedule and content may change depending on local conditions (transportation, weather changes, etc.) or the circumstances of local organizations, and may be reduced or modified if unavoidable.

7. This project is operated by a project organization partnered with Korea Gap Year. Therefore, responsibility for actual operation lies with the local project organization.

8. The travel alert levels operated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for overseas travel safety information are divided into four stages: Travel Caution / Travel Restriction / Recommendation to Evacuate / Travel Ban, and detailed information can be found on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' 'Overseas Safe Travel' website (www.0404.go.kr) where you can find detailed information.
