This is a volunteer project in a beautiful island village in Boryeong, South Chungcheong Province, focused on beach cleanups and helping with village work. You'll stay in the island village with friends, clean up the coastline, and spend meaningful time connecting with local residents. Experience island life where people and nature coexist, and create special memories that will stay with you as you sweat and laugh together.
1. Join marine plogging to protect the beautiful
This is a beautiful island village on the West Sea where blue ocean, wide beaches, and tidal flats meet. The beaches and coastline have been preserved through the long-standing care and effort of local residents. By joining the project, you'll walk the coastline with residents, collect litter, and take part directly in protecting the marine environment. Beyond simply picking up trash, you'll come to feel firsthand how precious nature is and see how small actions can create big change. The clean sea that everyone helps create together will become a special, rewarding memory you'll carry for a long time.
2. Experience the slow pace of island life and local culture
Most residents here combine farming and fishing for their livelihood, so you'll naturally encounter a variety of rural daily life and culture that shifts with the seasons. By joining villagers to gather seafood on the tidal flats or help tend a garden, you can experience a way of life lived alongside nature. Walking along the beach and watching the sunset during unhurried island time, you'll discover a warm sense of community and ease of life that's hard to find amid the busy pace of the city.
3. Enjoy a special time together
During the day you'll take part in volunteer activities, and in the evenings you can enjoy preparing meals together or taking walks along the shore. Talking and connecting with village residents brings warm experiences of understanding across generations and backgrounds. Cooperating and living alongside fellow participants also helps build deeper bonds and special memories. Sweating and volunteering together toward a shared goal will be a precious time that helps everyone grow and understand one another better. ■ Project Activities
This is a workcamp project where you join friends in marine plogging volunteer activities in Boryeong, South Chungcheong Province. You'll stay in a beautiful island village, clean up the coastline, and spend meaningful time connecting with village elders for the benefit of the local community.
■ Key Activities
1. Marine Plogging Volunteering: Take part in plogging along the coastline and tidal flats, collecting marine debris as you walk. Through this small act of protecting a clean sea, you'll learn the importance of environmental protection and feel the reward of helping care for a beautiful island village.
2. Helping with Village Work: Depending on the season, you can join activities that help local residents, such as tidal flat experiences or tending a vegetable garden. Experience the rhythms of rural life lived alongside nature and gain a better understanding of how the food we eat is produced.
3. Island Local Life Experience: Walk along the small harbor, tidal flats, and coastal trails to experience the relaxed pace of island life. Get an up-close look at village events, festivals, and the daily lives of fishing village residents, and encounter a warm community culture that's hard to find in the city.

This is a village community built by fishing families who have long made the sea their way of life. The village head, the village manager, and residents work together to manage village events and schedules, preserving the beautiful beaches and daily rhythms of the fishing village. This project goes beyond simple volunteering — you'll live and work alongside residents and get an up-close look at the stories of people whose lives are built around the sea. As you pick up litter and care for the tidal flats together, you'll feel the warmth of a fishing community that respects nature and looks out for one another. Staying as a neighbor in the village, you'll have the closest possible encounter with the sea and its people.
Throughout the project, you'll live together at the village hall, experiencing daily island life.
Rather than convenience, this space offers a chance to feel the warmth and community culture between people — sharing meals, conversation, and special workcamp memories together.

Boryeong, in South Chungcheong Province, is one of Korea's leading coastal cities, where the beautiful West Sea, islands large and small, wide tidal flats, and green mountains come together in harmony. It's a popular year-round destination thanks to the world-famous Boryeong Mud Festival and a wide range of marine leisure activities and fishing village culture. With the recent opening of the Boryeong Undersea Tunnel and Wonsan-Anmyeon Bridge, access to the islands has become much easier, making it simpler than ever to experience the West Sea's beautiful nature and everyday fishing village life. Since the opening of the Boryeong Undersea Tunnel improved access, it has drawn attention as a new travel destination, offering a relaxed island lifestyle amid a small harbor, coastal paths, and beautiful sunsets. Experience the many charms of a West Sea fishing village in one place — fishing, tidal flat activities, and fresh seafood.
2. Daecheon Beach
One of Korea's premier beaches, known for its wide, soft white sand and beautiful sunsets. Every summer it draws large crowds for the world-famous Boryeong Mud Festival, along with swimming and various marine leisure activities. With well-developed walking paths, cafes, and restaurants along the shore, it's a great spot to enjoy the relaxed scenery and charm of the West Sea in any season.
3. Seongjusan Recreational Forest
Seongjusan Recreational Forest, with its dense woods and clear valley streams, is one of Boryeong's leading healing spots. Walking along the cypress forest trails and well-maintained paths, you can enjoy the fresh scent of the forest and the ease of nature, making it popular with families and trekking enthusiasts alike.
