This is an educational volunteer project teaching English and foreign languages to children at a public elementary school in a small island village in Korea.Participants will naturally share their own language, culture, and experiences, including English, while conducting classes and various activities. Expand the children's world in a small island village, and experience the genuine daily life of Korea that is hard to find in Seoul.
1. Experience the education culture that has contributed to Korea's development.
Korea has always considered education as an important foundation for the growth of individuals and society. In the process of rapid industrialization and economic growth, schools have played a central role in learning new knowledge and skills and nurturing the potential of the next generation. Through this project, you can experience the daily life of a school where students learn and grow as a native teacher in a Korean public elementary school. You will examine how Korean education is practically operated, including not only regular curriculum classes but also reading activities, student self-government, experience-based education, and the attentive care unique to small schools. Create classes with the children in the school and engage in various educational activities to understand the culture of Korean education and its values.
2. Become the closest foreigner to the children in the world.
Children growing up in the island village have few opportunities to meet and talk with foreigners. Through this project, participants become the closest foreign friends and teachers to the children. In daily interactions of playing and talking together, children will naturally learn to reduce their fear of foreign languages and realize that there are different languages, cultures, and ways of life in the world.A little interest and warm encouragement from participants will instill confidence in the children and become a lasting gift that inspires them to dream of a broader world.
3. Experience the real daily life of Korea and living Korean.
This project takes place on Wonsando Island, located on the west coast of Korea. Living in an environment where a small school, fishing village, sea, and tidal flats are combined, you can experience Korean local culture up close. Say hello to the villagers, share meals, and participate in small events held every season, living as a neighbor in the village, not just a visitor. Through classes with children and conversations with teachers, you will naturally learn Korean while sharing daily life with the villagers. You will get to know the Korean you use in real life, which is different from what you learn in textbooks, and gain understanding of everyday conversations and culture. You will naturally experience the daily life and warmth of Koreans, as well as the community culture of caring for each other, which cannot be seen in tourist areas. While living in the school and village, experience using Korean in reality and learn the language and culture through communication with locals.
4. Gift them a language that will be remembered longer than textbooks.
Children learn languages quickly and remember them for a long time through enjoyable experiences. They get to know that a foreign language is actually a tool for communication through time spent playing games, singing songs, and drawing together while naturally conversing.Participants can directly plan various activities that allow children to enjoy learning English using their own language and culture.Let the children know that a foreign language is not just a subject for exams, but a fun language that connects them to new friends, cultures, and a broader world. The time spent with the children will naturally enhance their educational and communication skills, as well as expand their global perspective to understand different cultures.
Capturing the growth journeys
of our participants.

This project is an educational volunteer initiative in a small elementary school in Wonsan-do, Boryeong City, where participants introduce foreign languages and various world cultures to children while working as native teachers. Participants conduct classes and play activities using English or their native language, naturally communicating with the children.
■ Main Activities
1. Planning and conducting foreign language classes:
Using English or the participant's native language, various activities suitable for children's levels, such as conversation, games, songs, and craft activities, will be organized. A fun learning environment will be created to help children naturally engage with foreign languages.
2. Introducing global cultures:
Participants introduce their countries and cultures, food, traditions, holidays, and school life to the children. By learning and discussing different cultures, this process helps to broaden children's world views and cultivate their international sensibilities.
3. Creating educational content:
Various educational materials that can be used in classes, such as games, flashcards, quizzes, and craft activities, will be produced and utilized by the participants. They will have the freedom to plan classes that children can actively enjoy.
4. Activities with the children:
Participants will spend time during breaks, lunch, and school events with the children, naturally mingling with them. Rather than just being a teacher, they can become friends and mentors, creating joyful and warm memories with the children.
