At a craft brewery located amid Gangjin’s beautiful natural surroundings, this is an expert project where you will work closely with a veteran brewmaster and master the entire process of brewing beer. From selecting the raw ingredients that determine the beer’s unique taste and aroma, to designing your own intricate recipe, brewing, fermentation, maturation, and finally final packaging, you will have the opportunity to fully experience the real-world field of a commercial brewery firsthand. Every dramatic moment that brings wort to a boil, yeast to life and breathe, and gives birth to a perfect cup of beer unfolds at your fingertips. This course does not stop at acquiring simple manufacturing skills. We comprehensively cover everything from brand planning to the storytelling process aimed at conveying Craft Beer’s distinctive character and philosophy to the public. By absorbing the Brewmaster’s essential know-how that can only be learned on site, complete a one-of-a-kind beer brand that fully reflects your ideas and sensibility.
It takes far more care and sensory storytelling than one might imagine for a single glass of beer to be filled into our cup. Only after selecting the finest raw ingredients, carefully considering the optimal blending ratio for perfect flavor, and patiently enduring long fermentation and aging, does an original beer finally come to life. This project is not an indirect experience confined to the text in books or videos. It is a special opportunity to directly control the massive facilities of an actual commercial craft brewery with your own hands and experience the entire process of planning, brewing, managing, and selling beer from a professional perspective. You will experience the rich aroma of beer and its hot temperature with your whole body, and by directly managing the ever-changing state of fermentation through data, you will encounter the true world of brewing. We invite you into the thrilling excitement and sense of accomplishment at the moment when the cup of beer I designed is finally perfected, and into its profound allure.
Behind every perfectly crafted glass of beer we casually pass by lie unimaginably sophisticated technology, years of experience, and meticulous attention to detail. This project offers a unique opportunity to stand shoulder to shoulder with award-winning brewmasters who have proven their skills on the global stage, and to directly learn the essence of craft beer brewing.
From the instinctive selection of the finest malt, to the magical timing of the hops that infuse a multidimensional flavor, to the subtle changes in fermentation where microorganisms come alive, and even to the quality control in the aging room that determines the final quality. I make every moment of the master breathing life into a bottle of beer my own, right up close.
After going through this dense journey, the taste and aroma of beer that you once took for granted will come to you on a completely different level. A moment to fully savor the delicate balance of ingredients and the profound narrative hidden behind the familiar throatfeel. Beyond simple drinking, the way you look at beer itself evolves into an artistic experience.
Brewing excellent beer is not merely about perfecting the palate, but about creating a unique brand that will be etched into people’s memories. In this project, I weave together the unique aroma and flavor of the beer I have created, and the individuality contained within its radiant color, into a single organic narrative. You will lead the entire brand directing process, including naming the brand, establishing personas, and visualizing the concept. It will be a time of intense reflection on which people’s glasses this beer will be poured into, which season and setting will suit it best, and what emotional aftertaste it will leave behind after every sip. Along with that, it offers a special experience that breathes powerful life into beer, going beyond simple production. You will learn together the distribution mechanisms that actually move the craft beer market and trendy marketing strategies. For aspiring entrepreneurs who dream of opening their own brewery pub or launching a craft beer brand in the future, this course will serve as the most practical springboard to turn your imagination into a flawless business plan.
Beer can sometimes break down the barriers between people and become the perfect medium that connects hearts. The space where this project takes place is both a brewery where beer is produced and a multi-purpose cultural space where people can fully enjoy their tastes. Right next to the massive brewing facilities, a pub that sells and serves fresh beer on the spot and a merchandise shop carrying the identity of unique brands coexist. Here, naturally share your daily life with fellow beer lovers and expand your personal taste and culinary horizons by tasting craft beers of various styles. In particular, the experience of interacting closely with real customers who come and go from the pub during the project period becomes the creator’s greatest asset. We get raw feedback in real time on what beers the public is enthusiastic about and which stories resonate with them. Through this, the beer gains a balanced perspective both from the “brewer” and from the “crew member” who consumes it. Seeing firsthand how a single glass of beer I brew changes people’s expressions and fills the temperature of a space. It will be the most special time to go beyond simply acquiring skills and experience the positive connections and cultural values that beer creates through all five senses.
Based on its beautiful natural environment and the abundant bounty of its land, Gangjin has long been a place that grandly blossomed with rich, deep cuisine and a unique brewing culture. The moment you step into a landscape where the blue sea meets endless fields stretching out before you and gently rolling mountain ridges, a relaxed and tranquil everyday life begins—something you can never experience in the city.
Learning to brew craft beer in the embrace of such tranquil nature is something special. The process of brewing beer by layering my own reflections over the region’s long-standing stories offers a profound comfort to life in itself. While waiting for the beer to bubble and ferment inside the tank, try matching the pace of life to the flow of nature. In the midst of your busy daily life, you will once again encounter the inner calm and the joy of learning that you had momentarily forgotten. Your time in Gangjin will remain forever in your memory, beyond just the beer-making process—a new lifestyle in which nature, people, and life are organically connected.
