This is a volunteer project where you teach English to children in Korean care centers while growing together with them. Beyond simply teaching, you will build meaningful connections—becoming a friend, mentor, and role model in their lives. Through shared experiences, you will support the children’s futures while also discovering your own personal growth along the way.
1. Build Confidence and Express Yourself
Teaching children is more than just a volunteer activity. It is a meaningful process of learning how to organize your thoughts and express yourself clearly and naturally. As you communicate with children every day, you will gradually develop both your expressiveness and confidence. By seeing the positive impact of your words and actions, you will also build stronger self-belief and self-esteem. Over time, these experiences go beyond volunteering, becoming valuable moments of self-discovery and personal growth. This journey will help you grow not only as an individual, but also in your relationships with others, making it a truly meaningful and transformative experience.
2. A Meaningful Time to Support Children’s Growth
Children come to live in care centers for a variety of reasons, and it is here that they spend important years of their growth and development. During this time, education plays a meaningful role in shaping their future. For many children, learning English is more than just studying a subject—it is a gateway to new opportunities and a wider world. By spending time together in after-school classes, you will not only support their learning but also provide encouragement, stability, and care. Through this experience, children can build confidence, improve their skills, and begin to explore their own path forward. At the same time, you will come to realize how even small acts of care and attention can make a meaningful difference in someone’s life.
3. Develop Your Own Teaching Style and Communication Skills
Through this project, you will naturally develop your own teaching style and ways of communicating. As you spend time with children in different situations, you will begin to reflect on questions like, “How can I explain this more clearly?” and “What words can I use to communicate more warmly?” Over time, your own unique approach to teaching will take shape. Through ongoing interaction, you will grow beyond simply sharing knowledge to understanding and empathizing with others. As you learn how to express yourself effectively in different situations, your communication skills and confidence will also improve. This experience will not only strengthen your teaching abilities but also help you develop essential skills such as communication and leadership. Ultimately, it will be a meaningful opportunity to better understand people, build strong relationships, and grow to the next level.
4. Why Jeonju? ‘Comfortable and Meaningful Experience’
This project takes place in Jeonju, a city with many adolescents and young adults in need of help. For local youth, access to structured English education can be limited, so the chance to learn and practice English becomes a valuable opportunity that can open new possibilities for their future. At the same time, Jeonju offers a peaceful and traditional atmosphere centered around Jeonju Hanok Village, where you can enjoy a relaxed lifestyle while experiencing Korean culture in depth. The city is also known for its affordable cost of living, making it an ideal place for international participants to learn and explore comfortably. Compared to Seoul, Jeonju has a warmer and more relaxed environment, allowing you to build closer connections with people while enjoying your volunteer experience. With Seoul just about 1 hour and 50 minutes away, weekend trips to other cities are also easily possible. Your time in Jeonju will go beyond volunteering—it will become a meaningful experience of understanding Korea more deeply and forming genuine connections with others
5. Learn Korean while living the experience
A free Korean language program is offered alongside your volunteering activities, allowing you to learn the language in a structured and supportive way. Starting from the basics, you will build a strong foundation in Korean and develop your skills by applying what you learn directly in your volunteering activities and daily life. Because lessons are closely connected to real-life use, you can improve your Korean more quickly and in a practical way. Learning the language as part of your everyday life will not only help you communicate better, but also give you a deeper understanding of Korean culture.

This project focuses on teaching English and building meaningful connections with children in Korea. Rather than simply conducting classes, it is focused on forming natural relationships through everyday interactions and growing together with the children.
Main Activities
Build relationships with the children through consistent interaction and spend time playing and engaging with them. As a participant, you will take on the role of both an English teacher and a mentor.
Sample Daily Schedule
Volunteers typically participate about 4–6 hours per day, 5 days a week.

Accommodation is provided for all participants. You will stay in shared housing with four or more people, offering a comfortable, safe, and welcoming environment. It is a great opportunity to relax and connect with other participants while enjoying your stay.
The accommodation is conveniently located near a variety of amenities, including convenience stores, cafes, and restaurants, making daily life easy and enjoyable.

■ Region: Jeonju
Jeonju is a city where you can experience both Korean tradition and everyday life at the same time. With its hanok houses, charming alleyways, delicious food, and relaxed atmosphere, it offers a chance to experience life in Korea beyond typical sightseeing. As you take your time to explore, enjoy the slower pace, and connect with local people, you will begin to discover the true charm of Korea.
A typical landmark of Jeonju, this village is home to over 700 traditional hanok houses. As you stroll through the area, you can experience Korean culture up close by trying on hanbok, tasting traditional food, and taking part in hands-on craft activities.
This historic site houses the portrait of the founding king of the Joseon Dynasty and has been preserved for over 500 years. Surrounded by peaceful forest paths and traditional architecture, it is an ideal place for a quiet walk while experiencing Korean history and royal culture.
This charming village is filled with colorful murals along its narrow alleyways. As you wander through and take photos, you can enjoy a unique and artistic side of Jeonju. Located close to the Hanok Village, it is easy to visit both places together.
