This internship project takes place in Jeonju, a city famous for traditional Korean culture. As an intern at a social enterprise, you will have the opportunity to join projects that match your interests and strengths while building valuable career experience. Through a variety of activities—such as educational programs, exhibitions, and content creation—you will take part in projects that connect people with the local community and gain hands-on, practical experience. This will be a meaningful time to fully experience the unique charm of Jeonju and Korean culture.
1. Immerse yourself in Korean tradition and local life.
Jeonju is one of the best cities to experience authentic Korean culture. Centered around Hanok Village, it preserves traditional Korean architecture, food, and lifestyles intact, making it a favorite destination for many foreigners. At the same time, lively areas like Wedding Street and Gaeksa-gil offer a glimpse into modern local culture, allowing you to experience both the traditional and contemporary sides of Korea. During the day, work as an intern and interact with diverse local people, and after work, explore cafes, restaurants, and shops to experience a special daily life in a Korean region that differs from typical travel.
2. Gain hands-on experience in Korea and discover the role that suits you best.
This is a practical internship project where you can gain real work experience at a social enterprise. One of the biggest strengths of this program is the opportunity to try out roles that match your interests. After engaging in your chosen tasks, you will receive mentoring from experienced professionals, helping you reflect on whether the work truly suits you. The program is also designed to strengthen your skills and build a solid foundation for your future career. Based in Jeonju, the organization runs a variety of local initiatives, giving you the chance to collaborate with the community and work alongside people from diverse backgrounds. Choose a role that fits your interests and strengths, and take part in meaningful projects that contribute to local development. By the end of the internship, you will not only gain valuable hands-on experience for your resume, but also develop a clearer understanding of the kind of work that suits you. Most importantly, you will build confidence as you contribute to real projects.
3. Gain real-world insights and witness meaningful change in society and local communities.
Work at a social enterprise and experience firsthand the impact these organizations have on the local community. Through this process, you will develop a new perspective on society and gain deeper insights. You will learn how local stories and resources are transformed into meaningful content, and how cultural projects help revitalize communities. By taking part in a variety of projects—such as food, performing arts, educational programs, content creation, and space management—you will see how ideas are developed and brought to life in real-world settings. In addition, by collaborating with local residents and community members, you will gain fresh inspiration, discover new ideas, and broaden your perspective. Beyond professional growth, this is also a unique opportunity to fully experience Korean culture and everyday life while living in Jeonju.
4. Why Jeonju? A more comfortable and immersive experience
This project takes place in Jeonju, a city where authentic Korean traditions and daily life blend naturally. Centered around Jeonju Hanok Village, you can enjoy a relaxed lifestyle in a peaceful atmosphere while experiencing Korean culture in depth. With its relatively affordable cost of living, Jeonju is also an ideal place for international participants to explore, learn, and enjoy a variety of experiences. Compared to Seoul, the city offers a warmer and more laid-back environment, making it easier to connect with people and fully enjoy your internship journey. Located just about 1 hour and 50 minutes from Seoul, Jeonju also provides easy access to other cities for weekend trips. Your time here will go beyond a typical internship—it will be an opportunity to truly understand Korea and build meaningful connections with people.
5. Learn Korean while living the experience
A free Korean language program is offered alongside your internship, allowing you to learn the language in a structured and supportive way. Starting from the basics, you will build a strong foundation in Korean and develop your skills by applying what you learn directly in your internship and daily life. Because lessons are closely connected to real-life use, you can improve your Korean more quickly and in a practical way. Learning the language as part of your everyday life will not only help you communicate better, but also give you a deeper understanding of Korean culture.
