This internship takes place at a Korean traditional esthetic salon in Seoul. You will learn a core theory of traditional Korean medicine, and explore skincare and body-care methods customized to each body type. By understanding your own constitution and applying the right lifestyle and care techniques, you will feel your skin and health naturally improve during the internship.

    1. Korean Traditional Esthetic Loved by International Esthetic Professionals
Korean traditional esthetics use Sasang Constitution* and traditional Korean herbs to analyze a person’s natural body type, circulation, and physical balance. Based on this diagnosis, they offer personalized skincare and body-care services.

Unlike most Western-style esthetics that focus mainly on skin type, Korean traditional esthetics consider the individual’s constitution and apply customized facial and massage programs accordingly.

    * Sasang Constitution: A traditional Korean medical theory established in the ancient Korea dynasty, categorizing people into four types (Tae-yang, So-yang, Tae-eum, So-eum). Each type has different characteristics in physiology, personality, diet, and treatment methods.

    2. Personalized Body-Care Using Natural Ingredients

This project takes place at a professional esthetic salon that carries on the beauty secrets of Korea. The esthetic analyzes each customer’s constitution and skin condition to offer a personalized care program. Instead of chemical ingredients, the esthetic uses natural herbal medicines, traditional oils, and herbal steam therapy to minimize irritation and support the body’s natural healing process. Beyond beauty care, the esthetic also provides lifestyle and dietary guidance to promote overall health. Because of its gentle and safe methods, not only people with atopic dermatitis or skin problems, but also patients recovering from surgery visit the salon for rehabilitation purposes.

    3. Experiencing Traditional Korean Beauty Techniques

In this internship, you can experience the ancient esthetic techniques that have been passed down through generations. The scent of burning incense will take you back in time and all the ingredients used from diagnosis to during the esthetic program are 100% natural and pure. This esthetic is also constantly researching and developing customized traditional beauty techniques tailored to each customer's body type and constitution. Based on Korean traditional medicine, natural herbal materials, and intentional therapeutic movements, you will learn how Korean beauty techniques are designed to enhance a person’s unique balance, features, and body line. Throughout the internship, you will deeply understand Korea’s traditional beauty culture while experiencing improvements in your own skin and overall appearance.
