This apple farm is run by a couple who settled in Bonghwa after leaving city life, and the apples grown each year are so popular that reservations fill up before harvest. Participants join the daily life of the farm to learn the realities of returning to farming up close and to rest their body and mind in beautiful nature.

2. Rural life learned by experiencing daily farm life
A day at the apple farm starts early in the morning. Avoiding the strong midday sun, care for the apple trees in the morning and help with farm work. In the afternoon, you can rest or spend personal time reading, walking, or similar activities.Participants assist the farmer in managing the trees and help with harvesting, sorting, and shipping processes, hearing about and experiencing the realities of returning to farmingThrough concrete advice related to rural life and hands-on farm work, this will be a realistic learning opportunity to understand everything from the preparation process to the advantages and disadvantages of the lifestyle. You will also hear practical information about the economic benefits of running an orchard and the various associated costs.
3. Various activities to enjoy in beautiful nature
Near the farm is the country’s largest arboretum, where you can use your leisure time to stroll through the arboretum or walk forest trails to fully enjoy the deep charm of nature. At the farm, you can interact with a friendly Jindo dog and experience the warm daily life of a rural village,In the accommodation, with a large screen, projector, and piano, you can enjoy movies or music during your leisure timeYou can spend your leisure time this way. Also,you can dine on the outdoor terrace or at the barbecue area while looking at the mountain sceneryand enjoy meals. Enjoy your own rural staycation filled with relaxation and fun in beautiful nature.
What makes this project special
This is a hands-on experience project at a beautiful apple farm in Bonghwa, where you spend a day alongside real return-to-farming newcomers, helping with and learning farm work up close. You will help for 3–4 hours a day experiencing apple farm tasks, and listen to the farm owners' real-life stories to practically consider life returning to farming. Experience a new life in a quiet, relaxed rural setting surrounded by nature.
Main Activities
1) Apple farm work experience and assistance
- Watering, pruning, weed removal, thinning, etc.
- Farm maintenance, tool and equipment management
- Assistance with apple harvesting, sorting, and packing
- Learn apple cultivation know-how
2)Discuss returning to farming and rural life
- Sharing the farm owners' real experiences of returning to farming
- Practical advice on initial settlement preparation, challenges, and related matters
- Discussions on the pros and cons of returning to farming and rural settlement, including success and failure cases
3) Experience local life and daily rural living
- Experience a quiet rural village
- Relax while enjoying mountain views and stargazing
- Free time to use as you wish (visit nearby farms or explore Bonghwa County attractions)

Additional Information
- Most farm work takes place outdoors. Please check your basic physical fitness before participating.
- Pension-style lodging is provided during participation, making it suitable to join with friends or family.
- Please bring comfortable clothes and shoes suitable for farm work.
- Always follow safety rules when using farm tools or moving around the farm.
- Check-in time for the accommodation is 3:00 PM and check-out time is 11:00 AM.
- Please refrain from cooking inside the accommodation.
- There is a large barbecue area outside the accommodation, and for an additional fee we provide charcoal, a grill, scissors, tongs, and other utensils.
- For a smooth experience and scheduling, please make a reservation at least one month in advance.

This apple farm, situated on a tranquil mountainside in Bonghwa, North Gyeongsang Province, has been run directly by a couple who returned to rural life after many years in the city for over ten years. Every year they grow high-quality apples, and their produce is so well regarded that all of it is sold by reservation even before harvest. The farm uses a dense planting method with 4-meter spacing, allowing for stable and systematic management, and is operated with the addition of the owner’s professionally acquired knowledge and experience in fruit-tree cultivation.
You can stay in a pension-style accommodation located right in front of the farm. A private bedroom is provided along with a living room, kitchen, and terrace. This place, which offers a beautiful view of the Bonghwa mountain range and the apple orchards, is equipped with a large screen, a projector, a piano, and more, so you can watch movies or enjoy music and relax during your stay.

Bonghwa County in North Gyeongsang Province is a healing travel destination where pristine nature and tranquil mountain village scenery come together. Located on the slopes of the Baekdudaegan mountain range, this place offers cool air and peaceful forest paths, making it ideal for escaping a busy routine to find rest and relaxation.
1. National Baekdudaegan Arboretum
This national facility, created for forest conservation and education, consists of themed gardens, outdoor exhibition areas, and biological resource research zones. A variety of alpine plants, medicinal plants, and wildflowers are on display year-round, making it a great place to learn about nature while taking a walk. The arboretum's architecture and landscaping are also excellent, and its forest interpretation programs make it suitable for family visitors.
2. Cheongnyangsan Provincial Park
Cheongnyangsan, a famous mountain representing Bonghwa County, is known for its beautiful hiking trails, rocky cliffs, dramatic rock formations, and a sky-bridge viewpoint. At its peak sits the tranquil Cheongnyangsa Temple, and attractions such as Eungjinjeon Hall, Kimsaenggul Cave, and Seonyugyo Bridge are nearby, offering both scenery and cultural interest. Trails vary from 1-hour to 9-hour courses, accommodating both beginners and experienced hikers.
3. Buncheon Santa Village
Buncheon Santa Village is a 'Santa-themed' village that is dazzling during its year-end winter festival. The V-Train that goes there is a sightseeing train that slowly passes through the Nakdong River gorge, offering very impressive mountain-and-river scenery. There are various activities to enjoy for both children and adults, such as VR experiences and a mini train.
