    This project isa stay project to calm the mind by experiencing meditation and yoga at a quiet mountain temple in Gangwon-do with views of the East SeaIt offers a chance to experience practices such as Seon yoga, food meditation, and tea meditation in beautiful natural surroundings where the sea and mountains meet. Escape from busy thoughts, experience complete rest, and spend time replenishing yourself through 108 prostrations.

    Additional Information

    - The detailed schedule may change depending on the weather and local conditions.

    - When you see a monk, please greet them with palms pressed together or with a slight bow.

    - Please avoid making loud noises during your stay.

    * Please observe noble silence, especially from 9:00 PM.

    - To promote physical and mental well-being during the practice, alcohol, smoking, and bringing outside food are prohibited.

    - Please adhere to the schedule during your stay.

    - Minors may participate accompanied by a guardian.

    - Please observe the program's check-in and check-out times.

    - At meals, please take only as much as you will eat, and help keep the planet healthy by conserving electricity and water.

    - We provide a vest and pants as participant attire during your stay.
    * Sleeveless shirts are not allowed. Thank you for your understanding.

    - Walking barefoot is not permitted in the temple. Please be sure to bring your own socks.

    - For smooth scheduling, please make reservations at least two months in advance.

    *There is a cafe and gift shop within the temple where you can purchase light snacks or Buddhist items.

    About the Provider

    This temple, perched on a hill overlooking the blue East Sea, is a place where you can feel deep peace amid the tranquil scenery where sea and mountains meet. In the morning at sunrise you begin your day watching sunlight spread across the sea, and at night you can calm your mind while listening to the sound of the waves. As you walk through the temple grounds, your breath will naturally deepen and your thoughts will quiet.

    Accommodation

    You will stay in gender-segregated accommodations in a hanok within the temple grounds, with 2–4 people per room. The rooms have an ondol (heated floor) layout and are provided with floor mats and blankets. Basic heating is available, and the toilets and showers are shared; hot water is supplied well, so you can use them comfortably.

    1. Naksan Beach
    Naksan Beach, famous for its wide, clean white sand and gentle depth, is Yangyang's representative beach visited by many travelers in summer. The waves are moderate, so children can safely enjoy the water, and it's also great for walking along the beach or spending a relaxing time at nearby cafés. At Naksan Beach, enjoy the East Sea scenery as it turns red at sunset.

    2. Hajodae
    Hajodae is a famous spot known for its expansive views of the East Sea and dramatic rock formations. From the observatory on the coastal cliffs you can take in the endless sea at a glance, and it is also popular as a sunrise viewing spot. The area has pine forests and quiet walking trails that are great for walks, and you can stay a day at nearby campsites or accommodations to fully enjoy nature. If you want a quiet, restorative getaway, visit Hajodae.

    3. Jukdo Beach
    Jukdo Beach is Yangyang's representative surfing spot, a beautiful beach where clear blue waters and soft sandy shores come together. It offers waves and conditions suitable for surfing, attracting many surfers from beginners to experts. There are various surf shops, cafés, and accommodations around the beach for convenience, and it's a great place to enjoy the sea in a relaxed atmosphere.
