Program Introduction

Program image 2
Program image 3
Program image 4

The winery where this project takes place is a beautiful place. Single mothers, independent young adults, and people facing economic or physical challenges work and live here while learning, growing, and making wine together. The wines produced with them have built such a strong reputation that they are enjoyed not only in Georgia but also across Europe and around the world. As a volunteer at this winery, you will learn about winemaking, help produce wine, and support various activities that contribute to running the village. Experience the joy of growing grapes and making wine with inspiring people in the beautiful natural surroundings of Georgia.

1. A Special Opportunity to Learn Traditional Georgian Winemaking

Georgia is a country with more than 8,000 years of winemaking tradition. Its traditional method of fermenting grapes without separating the skins, seeds, and other grape remnants has been recognized as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage. In particular, the wines produced by the organization hosting this project have won awards for many years at the international wine and spirits exhibition “Win Expo Georgia,” proving their outstanding quality. Learn traditional Georgian winemaking methods at a winery that produces more than 30,000 bottles of wine each year.

2. Enjoy a Healing Experience Surrounded by Beautiful Nature

Georgia is home to such stunning natural beauty that it is often called a playground of the gods. The village where this project takes place is also located in a peaceful and beautiful area surrounded by green fields. Enjoy a relaxed lifestyle, starting each day with fresh, clean air. On your days off, you can recharge and unwind by trekking through Georgia’s magnificent mountain ranges with friends from around the world.

3. Experience a Free and Meaningful Life with Warm-Hearted People

The people in the region where this project takes place live by helping and sharing with one another. Children from orphanages, single mothers raising children on their own, unemployed individuals, and people with disabilities all face different challenges, yet every resident contributes to building a sustainable community. You may help with winemaking, farming, cooking, or making handicrafts, but if there is something you would like to do, you are encouraged to discuss your ideas and try something new. Spend meaningful and enjoyable time with warm-hearted local people while freely pursuing the activities that interest you. By creating positive change in the village, you will experience a deep sense of fulfillment.

4. Enjoy Memorable Moments with International Friends

Living in the village offers a special opportunity to meet people from Europe and many other countries around the world. By volunteering together and sharing daily life and leisure time in the accommodation, friendships naturally develop. This experience goes beyond simply meeting people; it provides a valuable opportunity to understand and exchange different cultures and perspectives. Through conversations and experiences with international friends, you will discover new ways of seeing the world and broaden your horizons beyond what is familiar to you. Learning from one another’s experiences and cultures will bring both inspiration and enjoyment. More than a simple cultural exchange, this will be a meaningful opportunity to develop a global mindset and gain a deeper understanding of people from diverse backgrounds. Start a special journey where you can positively influence one another while discovering the joy of learning about the world.

The organization was established as a charitable organization in 1989 to support socially vulnerable people. In 1991, it purchased an old hospital and the surrounding land in a village in eastern Georgia. The hospital building was renovated to provide a home where young people from orphanages, people with disabilities, and those with nowhere else to go could live together as a community.

The organization strives to provide a safe environment where socially vulnerable individuals can develop their full potential. Together with village residents and volunteers from around the world, it operates a variety of sustainable initiatives, including the production and sale of organic wine and agricultural products, winery tours, cooking classes, and other community-based projects to ensure long-term sustainability.

Life within the organization is based on the belief that all people are equal, everyone has something valuable to contribute, and every individual has the right to develop their abilities and reach their full potential.

“An environmentally friendly and sustainable community where people live and work together in a safe environment, respecting and caring for one another while developing innovative ways of working and realizing both individual and collective potential.”
