Location Overview

Region:Argentina, Córdoba

Known as Che Guevara's hometown, Córdoba is Argentina's second-largest city and one of the fastest-growing. The city hosts several universities, creating a young and vibrant atmosphere.

Situated at an elevation of 400 m, it enjoys a pleasant climate that avoids the intense South American heat even in summer, and its surrounding natural scenery—mountains and lakes just beyond the suburbs—makes it one of Argentina's most beloved cities.

Experience both youthful energy and natural beauty in Córdoba — learn Spanish and meet friends from around the world!

About the destination

1. Jesuit Mission Ruins and Ranches

This area contains such beautiful buildings that it was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2000. The region includes both religious and secular buildings, among them the oldest church and university in Argentina. Also, five estancias (ranches) boast beautiful landscapes, and attractions within the estates such as various livestock pens and vegetable gardens are sights to see.The Jesuit mission ruins in Córdoba, built by Jesuit missionaries, are an outstanding example of the fusion of European and indigenous cultures in South America. Designated a World Cultural Heritage site beyond its religious significance, it is well worth a visit.

2. The Cathedral

The cathedral is one of Córdoba's most notable tourist attractions. The building is so majestic and intricately carved that it often feels more like looking at a castle than a church. Not only the exterior but also the interior architecture and decorations are lavish and beautiful, attracting many visitors to admire it and take photos regardless of religious affiliation.Showing that cathedrals in South America can be as beautiful as those in Europe, the cathedral's grandeur and splendor are a sight to behold.

3. Buen Pastor Street

This place used to be a women's prison, but after redevelopment it has transformed into a modern area with upscale restaurants and shopping malls. The city also runs a contemporary art gallery here, offering plenty to see.It is the center of the club district and has been set up as a romantic spot, with cafes offering outdoor terraces where you can enjoy a relaxed and atmospheric time.Cordoba's hotspot, Buen Pastor Street!
