PROJECT INTRODUCTION
Chile is a country with stunning natural landscapes and rapid economic growth. This program offers more than just travel; it gives you a chance to engage in a global internship that matches your interests and personality. Plus, you’ll finally have the opportunity to learn Spanish, something you’ve probably had on your bucket list for a long time. Through this experience, you’ll interact with people from all over the world, and gift yourself with a unique and enriching opportunity to explore the incredibly charming region of South America.
PROJECT ACTIVITIES
1. This project is conducted in English and Spanish.
■ English Requirement★★★★☆
Since the internship involves working at various public institutions and companies in Chile, you will need English skills sufficient for handling documents and making phone calls in English.
■ Spanish Requirement ★☆☆☆☆
Although the internship takes place in Chile, and some institutions may require you to use Spanish, Spanish classes will be provided before the internship, so you can participate without worrying about your Spanish skills.
2. Before the internship, participants will take a month-long Spanish course in Santiago, the capital of Chile.
■ Spanish Classes
Spanish classes are held from Monday to Friday. (20 hours per week, with each class lasting 45 minutes)

Afternoon Activities |
- The Super Intensive Class is a program for participants who want to study more intensively in a shorter period. It adds 1 hour and 30 minutes of additional classes to the basic Spanish classes, and there is an additional cost. For details about the cost, please contact us separately. - Participants will be assigned to a class that matches their level through a level test, with tailored lessons ranging from basic to advanced levels.
- Classes start every Monday, with small groups of 4 to 7 participants per class, providing ample opportunities for individual participation.
■ DELE Preparation Course
This Spanish language school is an official DELE exam center certified by the Instituto Cervantes. You can prepare effectively for the DELE exam through personalized lessons. Additional applications are available individually. (Cost not included)
* The Spanish language exam is called DELE (Diplomas de Español como Le ngua Extranjera) and is conducted three times a year by the Instituto Cervantes. The certificate obtained after taking the DELE exam serves as an official proof of your Spanish proficiency, which can be recognized by various institutions, including universities in Spain, and can provide certain benefits.

■ Internship Placement
- Internships generally run Monday to Friday, from 09:00 to 18:00, with schedules varying by institution and field of activity.
- After participating in the language program in Santiago, Chile, you will move to the institution where your internship will take place. The local coordinator will guide you on the transportation.
- When filling out the project application form, please specify your desired internship field.

Interns will experience various business tasks such as data research and customer management. 3. Tourism
Chile’s Pacific coastline and Andes mountains attract travelers from around the world. With numerous landmarks, excellent wine, beautiful beaches, and rare glaciers, there’s much to experience. Meet and interact with travelers from various countries and expand your experiences!

4. Environment
Chile’s vast and beautiful natural environment is currently facing threats due to various issues, including ecological damage and anomalies. Interns will engage in both desk-based research and hands-on projects to address and experience environmental issues directly.

5. Administration
With economic development, there is a growing need for balanced regional development and improved administrative efficiency. Interns will work on projects to develop the region efficiently, attract foreign investment, and promote new tourist destinations. Experience how Chilean businesses are operated!

6. Social Welfare
Despite its rapid growth, Chile still has many people who are hungry and in need of social assistance. Interns will research and work on projects to improve living conditions in underserved areas. Gain valuable experience working directly on the ground!

INSTITUTION INTRODUCTION
For internships, we place you with reputable and well-established organizations in Chile, spanning fields such as business, culture, and administration. Through this global internship experience in Chile, you will not only use English but also significantly improve your Spanish skills, which will enhance your competitiveness. Before starting the formal internship, you will undergo a 4-week Spanish language course at a Spanish language school to learn the basics.
The institution where the language course takes place has been teaching Spanish professionally for many years and offers various educational curriculums to make it easy for students from different nationalities to learn Spanish. Additionally, the institution provides opportunities to experience the culture and interact with diverse people through various outdoor activities and programs, beyond just language classes.

Accommodation is an optional choice, participants can freely select accommodation in the area where the internship institution is located according to their preferences and budget. If you need help with booking accommodation, we can assist with reservations through institutions linked to the program, but only for those who confirm their participation. In this case, there will be accommodation linking fees and rental costs. The cost will vary depending on the participant and the length of stay, and detailed information will be provided individually to those who confirm their participation.

Chile, a country where forests, swamps, deserts, and glaciers coexist!
Chile, a long country stretching from north to south, attracts travelers from all over the world with its diverse natural environments. Santiago, the capital of Chile, is a cultural and economic hub, beloved for its stunning natural surroundings and vibrant culture. Santiago experiences summer from November to March and winter from June to August, with seasons opposite to Korea. In summer, temperatures can reach up to 35°C, while in winter, the weather is generally mild, around 13°C.
■ Travel Highlights
The Santiago Cathedral is located on the west side of Plaza de Armas. It began construction in 1541 when Valdivia founded Santiago and opened in 1558, although it has been rebuilt several times due to fires and earthquakes. Inside the cathedral, you can find numerous religious artifacts and paintings. The magnificent Santiago Cathedral, which has stood for thousands of years, is a place you should definitely visit!

- TOEIC score of 800 or higher / OPIC IM or higher English qualification
- DELE B1 / FLEX score of 650 or higher Spanish qualification
- Basic communication skills in English and Spanish, and the ability to handle actual internship tasks

■ Installment Payment Information
If you have difficulty paying in full, please pay a deposit of 500,000 KRW and pay the remaining balance within 2 weeks. Based on the date of the deposit, the process for confirming your participation will proceed, allowing us to check availability and positions. It’s important to secure your spot quickly to participate on your desired date and duration! (Refunds are not possible once participation is confirmed)
* However, if the start date is approaching, the schedule for the remaining balance payment may vary depending on the situation.
■ Early Bird Discounts and Emergency Applications Information
We recommend applying for all Gap Year projects at least 3 months before the project start date to ensure proper processing and preparation. Applications should be submitted at least 2 months in advance as a rule. However, if you have urgent reasons or need to participate quickly, we offer an emergency application service. By paying an additional fee, we will assist with expedited processing.
* While we strive to expedite processing, basic time requirements such as communication with local organizations and confirmation of participation must be considered. Participants using the emergency application service must actively cooperate with the Korea Gap Year operation team as the procedures will be the same as for regular applicants.
