■ Project Introduction
Take some time to experience the unique culture and relaxation in a Greek village where the intense sun and blue sea harmoniously blend together. Escape from your busy daily life, engage in conversations with travelers from different nationalities, and appreciate the value of community through the process of running a village community. You'll find yourself enjoying cultural diversity in the process.
PROJECT ACTIVITIES
1. This project will be conducted in English.
Importance of English ★★★☆☆
As an intern, you'll be dispatched to a Greek village community, where you'll need to communicate effectively in English to help run the village with the local residents. Even if your English isn't perfect, a bright and proactive personality will help you quickly bond with the villagers! Since the project includes an online video interview, we recommend preparing your English skills before participating.
2. The project is available from June to September every year.
If you wish to participate, please complete your application 3-4 months before your desired start date to allow for the online interview and preparation.

3. As an intern, you can choose to research one of several fields.
1. Permaculture: Farming with other community members without using machines, relying on individual skills and methods.
2. Organic Gardening & Natural Building: Cultivating and managing various vegetables and fruits like lettuce and strawberries without chemical fertilizers.
3. Facilitation Training: Making decisions on community management and coordinating tasks for guests and interns.
- As a participant, you will engage in research and documentation on your chosen field while being an active member of the village community. After completing your activities, you will prepare an English report based on your research.
4. As a community participant, you can take on various roles and activities.
You are expected to actively participate in community activities as an intern, usually from 9:30 AM to 1:30 PM or 2:30 PM, and sometimes from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, depending on the local situation. Every morning, a short meeting is held to discuss community activities and roles, with coffee breaks included. Generally, once an activity is assigned, it continues for about a week, and if you wish to change activities, you can do so starting the following week.
Aside from the designated times, you will have free time in the afternoons and one day a week (about 25-30 hours per week). During this time, you will mainly work on your report. During the rest of your free time, you can travel or relax as you wish.

Local organizations offer free shuttle services to one of the beautiful nearby beaches during weekday afternoons. Take a relaxing break at the beach in the afternoon!

Participant Review
My month in the Greek village community was incredibly precious and touching. I was moved, enlightened, and learned a lot. The biggest lesson was how to accept help from others. I tried to make the most of every day in the village community, but when it was time to leave, I couldn't help but feel tears and sadness. Despite this, I don't think I fell into a state of simply feeling upset. I was confident that the small village I stayed in, the precious people I met, and the countless conversations and emotions we shared would remain with me for a long time.

■ PICK-UP SERVICE Included The location of the project is approximately 4-5 hours by bus from Athens Airport in Greece. Since there are no direct flights from Korea to Volos Airport, participants generally need to travel from Athens Airport to the Volos terminal or airport.
* If using the pick-up service, you will arrive at the 'KTEL Volos Bus Terminal' by plane and bus. You will then take a car (approximately 80 minutes) with a local contact person who will meet you at the 'Volos Terminal' to the village. |

INSTITUTION INTRODUCTION
Established in 2001, this village community was founded with the idea that a community where all members come together and are self-sufficient represents the most utopian form of community. It is a place visited by tourists from various countries every year during summer vacations, where you can experience a 'Holistic Community' that is markedly different from the ways we have lived up to now.

ACCOMMODATION INTRODUCTION
Accommodation will be provided in the lodging facilities located within the village community. For meals, participants will prepare food for themselves and for other tourists, which typically amounts to around 15 servings. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are included. Guest accommodations generally range from double rooms to four-person rooms. Besides guest rooms, you will live as a community member and may experience various room options based on the schedule. The capacity of the rooms may vary depending on the option selected.

LOCATION INTRODUCTION
Location: Anilio, Greece

Greece, famous for its rich mythology, has a history of over 2,500 years as it formed city-states. Anilio, where the village community is located, is in the Thessaly region of Greece. It is known for its beautiful forests, natural landscapes, and nearby sea. Located about 1 hour from Volos, a central port city, Anilio offers a quiet atmosphere different from Athens or other major cities, which are about 4–5 hours (360 km) away by car. Experience the charm of this place where cool forests, blue seas, and intense sunlight harmonize!
Greece Travel Information
1. Socrates' Prison
This is the prison where Socrates was detained and met his death after his trial. It is located on the Philopappos Hill, where Socrates engaged in philosophical discussions about death with his disciples until the very end. The view from the Philopappos Hill is said to be the most beautiful, overlooking the Parthenon. Reflect on what justice truly means and how to genuinely serve the people and the country as you visit the prison where Socrates faced his final moments.
2. Parthenon Temple
Once used as the treasury of the Delian League during Athens' imperial era, the Parthenon was destroyed in 1687 by a Venetian cannonball. It shows how quickly ancient artistic treasures can be destroyed by human hands. Renowned as the most beautiful and grand structure in the Acropolis, it represents the land of gods resembling humans. Take time to imagine the mythological stories you've only read about in books as you explore the Parthenon.
3. Theater of Dionysus
This theater was used by the citizens of Athens and has been a cradle of drama and arts from ancient to modern times. Various tragedies and comedies were performed here. Later expanded and used as an arena, remnants of this can still be seen today. It now hosts the annual Dionysian Festival. Enjoy the romantic festival at Greece's oldest outdoor theater, where music, dance, and wine blend amidst ancient ruins!
