In Southeast Asia, elephants are being used to satisfy human greed, and their very survival is threatened. A young British man who felt sorry for these elephants left for Laos and established an organization to protect elephants with permission from the government. Location
The area where the program is held is Luangprabang, the largest tourist city in Laos. Luangprabang is a fascinating city that attracts the eyes of tourists to the extent that the entire city was designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and it is a city that tourists visiting Laos must visit.
Lives from the French colonial era and the reputation of a Buddhist country, the quiet yet splendid temples coexist, creating a mysterious atmosphere unique to Luangprabang. Also, you can experience the lifestyle of Laotian people in the local market where you can feel the flavor and life of Laos in the morning and evening.

Organization
This group, which runs the eco-tour program, was established to protect elephants being exploited for unfair purposes. It can be said that the first step of eco-tour is to have a perspective that sees elephants as equal living beings that live in harmony with humans rather than using them as a means of making a profit.
This group protects the elephants’ habitats that are gradually disappearing due to indiscriminate human development and helps them live in their natural state with minimal labor. It also plays a role in helping villagers in the Luang Prabang area to coexist with elephants and make a living through these eco-tours.

Programs and Activities
This program is conducted in English.

Since the main activity is to communicate, care for, and socialize with elephants, if you can understand and understand basic English,
English is not very important to participate in the program.

 

Elephant Riding Experience
Howdah is an activity where you ride on an elephant’s neck for about an hour and interact with the elephant.

Mahout Training Experience
Mahout means a person who drives an elephant in Sanskrit. This is a special experience where you can get closer to the elephants by riding on an elephant yourself and taking them to the jungle.

Tad Sae Waterfall (Eco Tour)
This is an activity where you can take a boat for about 10 minutes to Tad Sae Waterfall, a famous attraction in Luang Prabang, and spend time with the clear and clean water and enjoy freedom.

Elephant Bathing
You will bring the elephants that were staying in the jungle and move them to the Nam Khan River to bathe the elephants yourself.

Kwang Si Waterfall
It is located 20km from downtown Luang Prabang, and since it is far from the city center, tourists mainly visit through travel agencies.
Kwang Si Waterfall, which preserves the beauty of nature, has a cool stream of water continuously flowing and a natural breeze blowing and is one of the most popular tourist destinations for tourists visiting Luang Prabang.
