5 Things to do during your trip in Busan
A while ago we went on a 2-day trip to Busan. And now you might think; “is 2 days enough for Busan?” on which my answer is no, not really, but we actually did manage to visit a lot of places during those two days! So here are five things you can do or visit while in Busan!
# Gamcheon Village (감천문화마을)
One of the coolest things to do in Busan is to explore Gamcheon Cultural Village. This vibrant mountainside community used to be a shantytown and house Korean War refugees.
However, in 2009, it underwent a transformation into an artistic district with vivid paintings, life-size murals, adorable cafes, and art galleries.
Since then, it has developed into the city’s cultural center and a must-see location for travelers in Busan
The Gamcheon village was so beautiful to see even though the mountains were definitely a challenge to walk on. One thing is for sure though, the souvenir shops definitely got half of our savings now.
# The Busan tower (부산타워)
To fully appreciate the out standing perspective of the city and its well-known harbor, you must go up to the Busan Tower Observatory. The ideal location for a getaway from the city’s bustle. You can see all of the famous places in Busan from this tower. The tower is located in Yongdu san park so walking towards it is a must! Especially if you love relaxing walks in nature. Inside of the Busan tower there are a lot of photo zones with interesting and pretty backgrounds/props so you will have a pretty picture for your social media accounts!
This concludes our first day in Busan, because of our late travel the night before we had to recharge and went out to eat some good food! Busan and Seoul both have a vivid night life with a lot of people, but because Busan has more choice in location the crowds are spread more.
And then it brings us to day 2:
# Haedong Yonggungsa Temple (해동 용군사)
Haedong Yonggungsa Temple is situated on the eastern shoreline of Bu san. Built in 1376, this stunning Buddhist temple is also known as Temple by the Sea. Haedong Yonggungsa Temple provides breathtaking scenery of the ocean where it is located next to . This draws tourists in large numbers, so al ways expect a crowd to be there. This temple is definitely one of the most beautiful temples I have seen and its placement is even better. Next to the ocean, look at the waves and get hypnotized by the beauty and the calm surrounding.
✅ TIP: Go early in the morning for the best experience
Because we started the second day a bit later than planned we had to rush a bit through our schedule, still we could enjoy our sightsee ing. Since it wasn’t too busy at the temple when we were there. We couldn’t stay for too long either because we had to leave for our next stop(s)!
# Haeundae Beach (해운대해수욕장)
The most well-known location in Busan. This sandy beach is one of the most well-liked swimming areas in South Korea, although it may get very busy in the summer. Haeundae is a nice area to unwind and take in the sea. It is located at the base of very tall buildings, amid a bustling neighborhood full of cafés and restaurants.
It’s a wonderful area to stroll the streets while listening to the sound of the waves crashing in the background or to enjoy the local bars’ live music while taking in the city skyline at night. Haeundae beach was also our last stop of the Busan trip before we had to take the train back to Seoul again. When we arrived at the beach the sun had already set behind the horizon and we went to eat because we had a whole day behind us full of activities and struggles. But be fore that we saw the light show on the beach being lit up and start to play. It was a beautiful view and experience. We would definitely visist Busan again when we get the chance to. What we unfortunatly didn’t get to do but still is worth mentioning are the
# Haeundae Sky Capsules (해운대 스카이켑술)
On an abandoned closed railway they made an eco-friendly tourist at traction. These are the Haeundae sky capsules, the ride starts at Haeundae Mipo station and ends at Cheongsapo station, that’s about 4.8 kilometers. The ride itself is about 30 minutes long and depending on how many people you are with the prices go from 30000 won to 44000 won.
On this ride you’re traveling along the coastline and will see a beautiful scenery from 7 to 10 metres up in the sky
