    Program Introduction

    PROJECT INTRODUCTION

San José, Costa Rica, is a beautiful and beloved tourist destination known for its stunning blue seas. While the sea itself is already incredibly beautiful just to look at, what makes the emerald waters even more stunning are the countless marine creatures living within them. Costa Rica is especially famous for the hundreds of thousands of sea turtles that come here each year to lay their eggs.

Due to various environmental issues, sea turtles are facing extinction. Please help protect their habitat! When your efforts add up, the coast of Costa Rica will shine even more brightly.

Costa Rica is known as the safest country to travel in Central America, making it a popular destination for people from around the world. Besides its beautiful natural scenery across the country, it has earned the nickname 'Switzerland of Central America' due to its long history of peace. This makes it easy to find solo travelers here.

Enjoy the safe atmosphere of San José, Costa Rica, and experience daily life in Latin America! By getting used to life in Costa Rica and learning about new cultures and customs during the project, you will gain confidence to venture out into a broader world.

The activity location for this project is a rural coastal area far from downtown San José. Although it lacks the diverse amenities of a city, it is a place where life coexists with nature. You can experience a completely new daily life away from the convenient and familiar environment.

Become friends with foreign volunteers from around the world in a place disconnected from modern civilization! Although the unfamiliar life may feel a bit awkward at first, you can form closer relationships by paying attention to yourself and those around you in the comfort provided by nature. Experience the opportunity to build strong bonds and special friendships in Costa Rica.

Costa Rica means 'Rich Coast' in Spanish. True to its name, it borders the Caribbean Sea to the east and the Pacific Ocean to the west, offering a diverse marine ecosystem. In today’s world, where climate change and environmental pollution are widespread, Costa Rica is making significant efforts to preserve its marine ecosystems.

Please join us in providing a safer environment for sea turtles in Costa Rica. You can help protect their nests, assist with safe hatching, and clean the beaches. When sea turtle populations recover and the marine ecosystem stabilizes, the beautiful waters of Costa Rica will surely become even richer.
