PROGRAM LOCATION INTRODUCTION

Location Introduction

Location :   Hoi An, Vietnam

Hoi An, Vietnam

Hoi An is a famous tourist destination in central Vietnam. Located about 40 minutes by car from Da Nang, it is renowned for its beautiful night views. Once a thriving trade center, Hoi An was a major port where Eastern and Western cultures mingled. However, as trade shifted from Hoi An to Da Nang, it became a forgotten port. This helped preserve the village from the damage of the Vietnam War, allowing many valuable historical buildings to remain intact.

Now, the ancient town of Hoi An is designated as a World Heritage site and attracts many tourists. As you stroll through the old alleys, you might find yourself reaching for your camera without realizing it. This vacation, give yourself a special time in the exotic Hoi An.

1. My Son Sanctuary

The My Son Sanctuary is a site with traces of the once-thriving Champa Kingdom. The Champa Kingdom, active from the 4th to the 14th century, was a unique culture rooted in Indian Hinduism, unlike the Confucian culture of Vietnam. The site was a religious and political center of the Champa Kingdom, but much of it was destroyed during the Vietnam War and remains under excavation and restoration. With its intricate sculptures, brick structures built without nails, and towers showing the passage of time, it offers a vivid historical and cultural experience for those interested in history and ruins.

2. Cua Dai Beach

About 10 minutes by car from the bustling Hoi An, you will find the quiet and peaceful Cua Dai Beach. Known for its beautiful white sand, this place attracts many people looking to cool off and relax due to its clean and refreshing seawater. Particularly, if you bring some street food from Hoi An's old town and enjoy it with a beer under a parasol, it’s a little piece of heaven! (Of course, there are restaurants on the beach, so you don’t have to bring your food.) Cua Dai Beach also has a port that takes you to 'Cham Island,' known for its beautiful underwater coral. If you get the chance, enjoy various water sports such as snorkeling on Cham Island!

3. Central Market

The lively and bustling Central Market is loved by both locals and tourists. Here, you can find fresh local produce, herbs and spices, as well as custom-made clothes and souvenirs. Additionally, various street foods can be enjoyed from vendors lined along the river, satisfying both your eyes and taste buds. One of the fun aspects of this market is haggling over prices! Watch locals haggle over freshly caught fish in the morning or engage in bargaining yourself. Tourists who are unfamiliar with local prices may encounter higher prices, so mastering the art of bargaining can help you shop more affordably.
