Project Introduction
Bali, one of the top three islands in the world, is known for its stunningly beautiful beaches and unique temples that make for amazing photos everywhere you go. It's often referred to as the 'Island of the Gods.' As a beloved international resort for a long time, you can experience a relaxing and peaceful time here, especially while watching the 'sunset' which offers a serenity you won’t find anywhere else. In this project, you'll be volunteering to teach English to local children and residents while staying on the 'Island of the Gods' Bali Besides the volunteering, there will be activities like snorkeling, coral reef exploration, salt-making experience, temple visits, and village tours in the crystal-clear sea, making it a volunteer travel project where you can enjoy both travel and volunteer work during your vacation.
* Part of the participation fee will be used to plant corals in the sea in front of the village. As the corals will be donated in the participant's name, you can find your corals through snorkeling or scuba diving anytime during or after the project. |
1. A gift from the gods, Bali: Romantic volunteering while watching the sunset on the beach
A place where you can see the endless horizon and sunsets that change colors like red, orange, yellow, and purple with time. Especially from the accommodation where the volunteer activities are held, you can enjoy a stunning 'sunset' view every evening that creates a unique atmosphere.
During the day, you'll engage in meaningful English teaching volunteer work with volunteers from around the world, and in the evenings, you can go to the beach with everyone, sip mango juice and beer, and soak in the beautiful sunset.
Bali, the backdrop of the movie <Eat, Pray, Love>. The female protagonist of the film, despite everything seeming perfect, begins to question whether this is truly the life she wanted. She gathers the courage to leave her predetermined life and embarks on an adventurous year-long journey to rediscover herself. Watching the movie is healing and therapeutic, and just like the protagonist, enjoy yoga in Bali, indulge in delicious food, and find true love while traveling!
"When you find the courage to leave behind everything familiar, whether it’s a place, an emotional burden, or something external or internal, and set out on a journey for truth, if you approach everything you encounter on the road as a process of enlightenment and are willing to learn from everyone you meet, then, if you are ready to forgive yourself for the hardest to accept parts, the truth will reveal itself to you." - From Eat, Pray, Love
3. The filming location of 'Youn's Kitchen' chosen by producer Na Young-seok: Let's explore the charm of Indonesia!
A variety show featuring Korean food in a foreign land has captivated domestic viewers once again, with Indonesia chosen as the first opening location! Bali, where this project takes place, is not far from Gili Trawangan, a filming location for the show. After the project, you can also enjoy traveling to Gili Trawangan, which has its own unique charm.
The friendly local villagers will greet you with 'HELLO' every time you see them. Explore every corner of the island on a bicycle with the stunning beach beside you! Don’t forget to experience the real sunset, which made the show’s participants emotional by being "too beautiful to be sad!"
4. A volunteer trip where you live directly with pure-hearted children and friendly villagers
Everyone who has planned and participated in this project says the same thing: "People are so kind and welcoming, it was really touching." Even just visiting this place will give you the warmest welcome you have ever experienced from the pure-hearted villagers and even more so from the clear-eyed children. Why not create a second family in Bali while living with these villagers?
Recommended by a gap year planner! The project concept, developed and overseen by the planner. Bali is close to Australia and is a favorite vacation spot for Australians, fulfilling all the Western fantasies about Asia. Because of this, many volunteers come to this organization from all over the world, offering a chance to meet friends from around the globe, share diverse experiences, and broaden your horizons in a relaxed environment.
Especially for busy professionals with limited time, it's possible to participate for about a week during vacation periods. This is highly recommended for those who want to have a truly special and unforgettable experience in a short time.
* If you’re unsure about the duration of your participation, pay attention! This project combines enjoying Bali's relaxed atmosphere with meaningful volunteer work. We recommend traveling and participating for a short period of up to 4 weeks. Although the activity time may be slightly more compared to other projects, the intense enjoyment of volunteer work and various activities in a short time makes this a highly satisfying project even for brief participation. |

If you plan to travel around Indonesia or Bali before or after the project, it is recommended to confirm your schedule with the coordinator before purchasing your flight. Additionally, if you arrive early Sunday morning, you may have time to explore Bali.
English Proficiency Required ★ ★ ☆ ☆ ☆ You need to know how to teach English in English. However, since most students have basic English skills, you don't need to be a language expert! The project is planned as a volunteer trip, not a professional service activity, so you can participate without pressure while enjoying your time in Bali. Experience both volunteering and eco-touring in the local village! |
" The sincerity of the people living in the village was very touching. To them, I wasn’t just an outsider. I remember being warmly welcomed as if I were a local, and it was so nice to be received that way from the moment I arrived. They listened sincerely when I made requests, and I was very grateful. When staying in the village, I felt like part of the family, and I even shed a few tears when leaving. "
" Everyone was friendly and always welcomed me with a smile. I was especially grateful when helping the fishermen, as they were always kind. It was evident that everyone tried to make my stay better in any way they could, and I truly appreciated that. It was a pleasant week. "
