Experience the tranquility of beautiful nature while studying in Puerto Madryn. Learn Spanish while enjoying the sound of the waves and marine animals in Puerto Madryn, a treasure-like city in Argentina with a European cultural influence everywhere.

1. This project will be conducted in Spanish and English.

English Requirement ☆☆☆☆

If you do not speak Spanish, having some proficiency in English will be very helpful for the project.

 

Spanish Requirement  ☆☆☆☆

Since the classes are conducted in Spanish, having basic knowledge of Spanish will be very helpful for the class.

 

2. Spanish Classes

- The project can start every Monday.

- Classes consist of 25 lessons per week, with each lesson lasting 45 minutes.

- On the first day, participants will be assigned to a class suitable for their level through a placement test, and tailored classes from basic to advanced will be provided.

- The first day will include an introduction to school facilities and orientation, followed by lunch with students and teachers and a city tour.

- Classes are conducted in small groups of 3 to 8 students, providing ample participation opportunities for each student.

- Upon completing the course, a certificate will be awarded with the participant's Spanish level and completion time.

- Visit beautiful beaches and hear stories of Patagonia

 Weekend Activities

You can participate in various activities according to your preferences. Use the weekend to explore different places in Argentina!

Observe penguins residing in Puerto Madryn or make friends with sea lions, killer whales, elephant seals, and dolphins visiting each season for breeding and raising their young!

Spanish, the second most spoken language in the world after Chinese, is used in most South American countries, and its popularity is increasing along with the growing importance of the South American market. This Spanish language school, with branches in various cities, has been teaching Spanish to foreigners for decades and established a branch in Puerto Madryn in 2012. The school is conveniently located in downtown, just two blocks from the beach, making it an ideal spot.

Experience classes with passionate and friendly teachers, and interact with students from diverse countries, offering you opportunities to exchange various cultures!

The dormitory is located within a 10 to 20-minute walk from the project site, where you will stay with local and international students. It provides a bed, fan/heater, wardrobe, and storage. The dormitory does not provide meals, but you can use the shared kitchen and cook.

 Homestay

Homestays are located about a 10 to 25-minute walk from the project site, where you live with a local family, directly experience the culture, and have the opportunity to improve your Spanish skills. Puerto Madryn, a beautiful area where the Atlantic Ocean stretches out coolly before you. The Golfo Nuevo surrounding Puerto Madryn has calm waters where many southern right whales come to breed and care for their young. Puerto Madryn is 1,329 km away from Buenos Aires, Argentina’s capital, and takes about 16 hours by car. The summer in Puerto Madryn is very hot, but the weather in spring and fall is cool. Also, due to significant temperature differences, you need to pay special attention to your clothing.

1. El Doradillo Beach
 
El Doradillo Beach is about 30 minutes from Puerto Madryn. It is one of the best places to see whales on the beach. Due to its excellent location, not only whales but also seals and sea lions come here to give birth and care for their young. You can observe all these processes right next to you. Experience marine animals that you could only see through documentaries like National Geographic up close! It will undoubtedly be the most exciting experience.

You can see penguins digging holes in the ground, wandering around from the holes, and going to the shore to eat.  Payment Plan Information

If full payment is difficult, you can make a prepayment of 500,000 KRW and pay the remaining amount within 2 weeks. The process for confirming participation will be conducted based on the date of the prepayment, and you will be notified of your participation status and availability. To participate on your desired dates and duration, it is important to secure your spot quickly!  (No refunds after confirmation of participation) 

* However, if the start date is approaching, the schedule for paying the remaining balance may vary depending on the situation.  

 

 Early Bird Discount and Emergency Application Information

It is recommended to apply for all Gap Year projects at least 3 months before the project start date due to the standard processing time and preparation period. Applications should be made at least 2 months in advance as a principle. However, if you need to apply urgently or have unavoidable reasons, we offer an emergency application service for an additional fee to expedite the process as much as possible

* Although we strive to expedite the process, please note that there will be basic time requirements for communication with local agencies and confirmation of participation. All procedures will be conducted the same way as with regular applicants, so those using the emergency application service must actively cooperate with the Korea Gap Year operations team.

** Those who apply at least 180 days before the start date can receive an Early Bird discount.
