PROGRAM INTRODUCTION

PROJECT INTRODUCTION

Join the time when Tanzanian children's world expands. Through learning time with their teacher, children break out of their narrow world and dream bigger dreams. Growing every day, these children will become the seeds of change for Tanzania's bright future. The opportunity to create a sustainable future is waiting for you!

Meet the many friends who have come to participate in volunteer work in Zanzibar, Tanzania. European friends, experienced in overseas volunteering, live each day richly, drawing from their diverse activity experiences. They know how to make the most of their leisure time, finding unique local activities and enjoying their time to the fullest.

Reflect on yourself by observing the different perspectives of European friends and try applying new ways of living. You will find an opportunity to take another step towards a world you never knew before.

In Zanzibar, create special memories with new friends, experience a broader world, and build friendships that will last long into your future.

Every year, many people from around the world come to enjoy the beauty of Tanzania, but the children of Zanzibar do not often have the chance to experience the outside world. Growing up, their international experiences are limited, which makes the time they spend with volunteer teachers very important. Meeting foreigners from various countries allows them to gain broad experiences and learn about a bigger world.

Above all, the knowledge and experiences shared with the teachers connect to the children's future economic activities, ultimately improving their quality of life. Be part of the process in which the lives of children are positively transformed through you. The time spent with children, who grow rapidly every day, also becomes a chance for you to discover a new world!

While the children of Zanzibar grow through me, I also learn a lot by spending time with them. Especially, receiving the endless love the children show is a warm experience that cannot be easily found elsewhere. The healing and recovery that love provides become a new reason to live life.

Enjoy studying, playing, and sharing moments with the children! Even if words don’t always come easily, there will be a healing time where you understand and connect with each other through love. Recover your wounded heart from the harsh social interactions and human relationships with the bright smiles of the children, and recharge yourself to return to daily life once again.

Tanzania is a place where diverse cultures and histories come alive. Most notably, over 120 minority tribes live together, allowing for a rich experience of different tribal cultures. Also, Zanzibar has grown as a hub of spice and intermediary trade for over a thousand years, combining various cultures from India, Arabia, and Europe. As a result, it offers a unique atmosphere rarely found in other African countries.

A special time to experience a different daily life in Zanzibar, Tanzania! Discover the beauty of Africa that you never knew and create rich and fulfilling days.

PROJECT ACTIVITIES

This project is a volunteer activity aimed at helping local teachers in schools in Zanzibar, Tanzania, to teach children and provide them with various cultural experiences.

* Why do children need teachers?

Children living in Zanzibar, Tanzania, do not have adequate access to education due to poor living conditions. They also lack international exposure that could open up their horizons. Therefore, time spent with international teachers helps them achieve greater growth.

Children who gain diverse educational experiences are more likely to find better jobs in favorable environments, leading to a more stable and prosperous family life.

Join us to support the bright futures of these children!

Participants will assist in teaching essential subjects such as English and math to children aged 5 to 14 at local schools in Zanzibar. They will also help conduct classes by engaging in various activities such as singing, educational games, arts, and physical education.

  • Generally, volunteers will work from Monday to Friday, around 4 hours a day. The schedule may change depending on the weather and local conditions, and any time outside of volunteering hours can be used as free time.
  • Volunteers will travel from their accommodation to the activity site by bus with a local coordinator, which takes around 20-30 minutes.
