Since the 20th century, it has become a vacation destination for European royalty and Hollywood stars and is also one of the cities loved by Coco Chanel, the founder of the luxury brand Chanel. It is also a popular spot for surfers and golfers who come to enjoy the beauty of the Atlantic.

Biarritz, alongside Nice and Saint-Tropez, is one of the top three vacation spots in France! The city’s typical scenery includes the blazing sun, crashing white waves, sandy beaches lined with parasols, and grand, palace-like resorts. Even in winter, the temperature does not drop below freezing, allowing you to enjoy this peaceful resort to the fullest.

Biarritz is a surfing hotspot for surfers around the world. The city's beaches are famous for their excellent waves, attracting numerous surfers annually. | Various methods of learning to gain a broad knowledge of the language and culture. This schedule allows you to focus intensively on learning French. In addition to the 20 basic French lessons per week, there are 10 additional lessons per week through thematic workshops, which you can choose to attend freely. | ||

- Check-in and check-out are generally on Sunday before the project starts and Saturday after the project ends. (For homestays, check-in is after 5 PM on Sunday, and check-out is before 12 PM on Saturday. Biarritz is a resort city that boasts the beauty of the Atlantic Ocean and the distinctive culture of the Basque region. Enjoy the hot sun and cool sea during the day, and participate in various festivals and parties at night. Explore and enjoy the diverse charm of Biarritz!
Recommended Places to Visit
1. The Rock of the Virgin Mary
The statue of the Virgin Mary, set on a rock in Biarritz's beach, is a popular tourist attraction. An iron bridge extends to the rock, allowing visitors to get a closer look. According to legend, a divine light shining from the rock during a storm guided the fishermen of Biarritz safely back to port. The statue was erected to show gratitude for this miracle. Although it is just a legend, the view of the blue Atlantic Ocean from the rock is undoubtedly breathtakingly beautiful.
2. Biarritz Lighthouse
Standing tall at 73 meters, the white lighthouse is a striking landmark in Biarritz. Climb the 248 spiral steps to enjoy beautiful views. You can see the Landes coast and the Basque coast, as well as the Rock of the Virgin Mary. On clear days, you might even spot the peaks of the Pyrenees in the distance. Even if you don’t climb the lighthouse, you can stroll through the park and walking paths around it and enjoy the beautiful sea.
3. Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port
Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port is a small town about an hour’s drive from Biarritz and is the starting point of the ‘French Way,’ the most traveled route of the Santiago pilgrimage. Although it’s a small town, you can vividly feel the traces of its long history. As the starting point of the pilgrimage route, you can meet various pilgrims from around the world. Listen to their stories in Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port; it might inspire you for your own journey.

■ Installment Payment Information
If you are unable to pay in full, you can pay a deposit of 500,000 won and settle the remaining balance within 2 weeks. The process for confirming your participation will start from the date of the deposit, and we will check the availability and spots. It’s important to secure your place as soon as possible to participate on your desired dates and duration! (Refunds are not available once your participation is confirmed)
*However, if the start date is approaching, the schedule for paying the remaining balance may vary depending on the situation.
■ Early Bird Discount and Urgent Application Information
For all Gap Year projects, we recommend applying at least 3 months before the start date to follow the normal procedures and preparation period. We require applications to be made no later than 2 months before the start date. If you need to apply urgently, additional fees will apply for expedited processing.
*Although we will assist with expedited processing as much as possible, there will still be basic time requirements for communication with local agencies and confirmation of participation. Therefore, those using the urgent application service should actively cooperate with the Korea Gap Year operations team.
** Those who apply more than 180 days before the start date can receive the Early Bird discount.
