Emma said that she participated in People Tree’s photo shoot and design without any personal gain, and she visited Bangladesh, where the clothes are produced, to see how the clothes are made, met the workers, and made fair trade known to the world once again. She said that she was able to learn a lot while working with People Tree before going to college

I wanted to help People Tree create a collection targeting the younger generation. I sympathized with the idea of using fashion as a means of alleviating poverty, and I thought I could do something for them. People my age have already begun to understand the ethical and environmental problems that fast fashion has. We want to make good choices, but the reality is that there aren’t many options. Through this collaboration, I was able to learn a lot before going to college, and it was the best project I’ve ever done.
