Visa Application Methods for Vietnam 

Vietnam visas are issued to individuals visiting for tourism purposes who plan to stay longer than 45 days.
Visa issuance includes embassy-issued visas and electronic visas (E-Visa).
Visitors can stay for up to 45 days with an embassy-issued visa, or up to 90 days with an E-Visa (starting from August 15, 2023).
E-Visas are issued digitally without the need for a stamp or label in your passport.

Visa Exemption for Certain Countries

• If you are from a country that has a visa exemption agreement with Vietnam, you can stay up to 45 days without a visa.
• For stay durations up to 90 days, Vietnam offers:
• Single-entry tourist visa (90 days): One-time entry only
• Multiple-entry tourist visa (90 days): Multiple entries allowed

Countries Eligible for Visa Exemption (up to 45 days):
Vietnam offers visa exemption for nationals from certain countries, including, but not limited to:

• Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Philippines, Myanmar, Japan, South Korea, Russia, Sweden, Denmark, Norway

Please verify the most up-to-date information with the Vietnamese embassy or consulate in your home country to see if your nationality is eligible for visa exemption.

 

How to Apply for a Vietnam Visa

✅ Embassy Application

To apply for a visa through the Vietnamese embassy, follow these steps:

• Required Documents:
• Passport photo (1 photo)
• Passport (with at least 6 months of validity)
• Visa application form (available at the embassy)
• Embassy Visa Application Hours:
• Monday & Thursday: 09:30 - 12:00
• Tuesday & Wednesday: 09:00 - 12:00
• (Please check the embassy website for any changes)
• Processing Time:
• Visa processing takes about 1 week.
• Visa pickup is available between 14:30 - 17:00.

Note: Applying directly at the embassy may take longer than applying online for an E-Visa. We recommend opting for an E-Visa for faster processing.

✅ Vietnam Visa: E-Visa Application Process

For participants staying longer than 45 days, the most convenient method is applying for an E-Visa. Here's how to apply:

• Official E-Visa Application Site:
• Apply online at the official E-Visa website.
• Required Documents:
• Passport photo (JPEG or JPG format)
• Passport scan
• Internationally usable credit card for payment

 

• Step-by-Step Process:

• Step 1: Go to the E-Visa application site and select "For Foreigners" to begin your application.

• Step 2: Upload your passport and passport photo.

• Step 3: Fill in personal details, including:
• Name, gender, date of birth, nationality, religion, email, passport number, passport expiration date, stay duration in Vietnam, and entry/exit dates.

• Step 4: Review and pay the visa fee.
• Step 5: Receive your E-Visa approval via email.

• Visa Issuance Fee:
• Single-entry E-Visa: Approx. USD 25
• Multiple-entry E-Visa: Approx. USD 50
• Processing Time:
• E-Visa applications are typically processed within 72 hours.
• Note: After receiving the E-Visa, print the document and bring a color copy with you for entry. A screenshot is also acceptable.
